Phase II of the Arcot Lutheran Church “Quo Vadis” Interfaith Dialogue Center
Tiruvannamalai, India
Section and Elevation
The “Quo Vadis” Interfaith Dialogue Center is dedicated to dialogue between the different religions in India. This is very important as Christians are often discriminated against or even persecuted for their faith. But the Center also has a special mission to reach many Western youth, who travel to countries such as India and Nepal in search of religious meaning in their lives.
The Center is located in a serene and peaceful atmosphere close to three major ashrams. It is reported that at least 500 Westerners live as a “floating population” in this part of the well-known temple town of Tiruvannamalai in South India.
By building this Center, the Arcot Lutheran Church believes it is their mission to help the youth understand that it is not Christianity which has failed them. Instead, they have made a decision to desert their faith and thus need to be showed the love of Jesus Christ anew.
Msaada assisted with Phase I design and construction of the offices, cafe and a library / meeting room. Phase II will be a two-story structure with a meeting room below and lodging above with separate male and female accommodations.
